Attitude

I found these pictures on my camera Zoey took of herself. She really loves to pose. She thinks she 's it.

No Doubt

Steph and I went to No Doubt and Paramore to get our groove on. We had a great time. No Doubt rocked, much better than my last concert MC Hammer.

Photo from week 2 assignment

I have always wondered how to take a picture of water and have it turn out like this. Well I finally found out and I was so excited how this turned out. I might just have to frame it. Years from now I might look back on this picture and be able to pick out the flaws, but for now Im happy with it. This photography stuff is more difficult than it looks. Once you put it on Manual mode too much to think about. You have to analyze what look your trying for. Blurring out the background, action, speeding up, slowing down. Then once I get this down if that is possible then there is editing. I don't have an artistic eye, but I do see so many cool looks you can get by editing. My hobbies are photography and scrapping pictures, that should be relaxing and enjoyable. Instead it gives me anxiety, to much to learn, not enough time, and I want to be good at it. Any great ideas let me know. I have to get busy for next weeks class, more of an artistic approach with lines, shapes, colors, textures. We will see what I find, my little models are growing impatient with me snapping shots all over the place. Maybe I can bribe them with snow cones from the snow shack.

Mothers Day

For Mothers Day I bought me a new Canon T1i Digital camera. It just came out so I am super excited. I started taking a photography class and got the bug to get a new one. I sold my 2003 Rebel in a few hours on KSL Classifieds so I felt a little better about spending money I don't have on a new one. After seeing how easy it was to sell my digital camera, I sold my old Nikon 55 film camera in 2 hours. I only was asking $50 but I will never use it and haven't for about 6 years. I am on the hunt to see what else I can sell. I took some pictures for my assignment and feel I still don't have a clue. It will be interesting to hear what she has to say. How bad can it be when your girls are this cute how can I go wrong. I just love these girls so much, they are to cute and so funny.

Price is Right,, Ya your not going anywhere so sit down

Well this was my second time hoping I would be the one with my named called, well no go. At least last time my friend Stacy was called, got up and played Plinko. We left at 7 am that is very early when your on vacation. Checked in and we weren't sure we were even going to get in until around 11:30 for the 1:oo taping. It would not have been so bad to wait 5 hours, but we froze to death for hours. It was in the shade, windy and so cold. Once they let us in we were shoved up in the very far left corner so no chance to get on TV especially for the 65 year old lady that kept standing up on her chair just in case the camera came her way. What ever, my name was called after the taping I was the 1 out of 300 who won $100 and a Price is Right game. It's better than nothing, now I will wait 3 months for the money, Drew you told me it was crisp 100 dollar bill.

Disneyland for the 11th time at least for Zoey, 3rd or Avery

It is fun to see the kids get excited for Disneyland. Avery couldn't wait to go to Mickey's House. When she actually went inside Mickey's house she went crazy and touched everything over and over. She could have spent all day there. As usual very busy but it is spring break. Is there eer a good time to go without lines?

Spring Newport Beach

Adventures at Crystal Cove
This little secret spot was so much fun. I felt like I was in Hawaii. It is very secluded, you cant drive your car anywhere near it so you walk down the beach, or shuttle. So it was it's own little paradise with beach shacks for rent without tv or phones. There is a little restaurant on the beach. I got coconut macadamia pancakes. So awesome, here are some of our adventures on this awesome beach. We also saw about 15 dolphins near by.

Ice Vs Hammer

My sister wrote this review, I was with her and couldn't have said it better.
Ice vs. Hammer...who wins?

If any of you missed the Event of the Century on Friday night, otherwise known as Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer reunited...STOP, collaborate and listen.
There I was, driving down I-15, when all of a sudden: "MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice!" says the UVU billboard. "What is this nonsense?" I think to myself. "Surely two of the (humor me here) biggest names in rap history could NOT be reuniting and gracing Utah Valley with their presence!" Or could they? Turns out, they could and they DID. And apparently, this is their one and only stop, which completely blows my mind...they must have A: owed someone at UVU a favor, B: got paid the "big" bucks (really, how much does Surreal Life on VH1 pay anyway?), C: become Mormon and wanted to place themselves in Mormon Capital of the World, aka Utah Valley. But, I digress...onto the big event.

Location: McKay Events Center. The crowd: a sea of 20-30 somethings, a large majority dressed in 80s gear and Hammer Pants that were obviously home-made. I've dressed 80s for Halloween enough to knowthat the D.I. does NOT have any of those left, so I appreciated their creativity and craftiness, having taken on a few sewing projects myself. Also, to my delight/amusement/horror, lots of spandex in a variety of colors for my viewing pleasure. I guess Hammer and Ice really bring out people's confidence.

Round One: Vanilla Ice.
LOOK: all black attire and full sleeve tats on each arm. I have to admit...I have a thing for the sleeve tats (I KNOW!), so he had me at "Hello UTAH!"

SET:
*blow-up skeleton arch from Walmart: CHECK
*900 water bottles to throw over the audience and drench them: CHECK
*scary a$$ dancing clown in a Santa suit: CHECKKKKK

PERFORMANCE: His performance was pretty short. Ice is sporting a harder, edgier look and music style. His songs are much more rap than "Ice Ice Baby" ever "was", but he only played about 4 or 5 of them. Rumor #1 that we'd heard: Ice refused to play his bit hit. Just when I'm starting to think that the rumors were true and he was only playing new songs, Ice says "Do you want me to go OLD SCHOOL?" Crowd goes wild. And then there's that familiar little beat...granted he did change it up a bit to be slightly more edgy to reflect his new style, but the crowd loved it. Did he stop there? No way Jose. How could you call yourself Vanilla Ice and NOT sing Ninja Rap? I never saw a more content crowd singing, "Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO!" Ahh..perfect way to say goodbye, singing about the Ninja Turtles.

HIGHLIGHT: You'd think that with his reputation, he'd have been dropping 'f' bombs left and right, but that wasn't the case. No, Ice used words like "crap" "dangit" and "heck." Heck? He's Mormon for sure.

Round Two: MC Hammer

LOOK:
*blood red silk shirt and matching tie: GOT IT
*black leather Harley Davidson vest (that's right): HAD IT
*black Hammer pants: YOU KNOW IT

SET: uh...what set? After Ice's crew took down all his props, Hammer's didn't put anything up. Maybe he was going for less is more? (But FYI, Hammer, it wasn't.)

PERFORMANCE: Rumor #2: Hammer was bringing a choir. I'm thinking--okay, their shiny robes will be backdrop enough so maybe that's why there's no set? But, alas, no choir. But he did have a group of back-up dancers that were really good and fun to watch. But WTF Hammer? Must you end the song and run off stage, leaving us all in the dark for 2 minutes between EACH SONG? People went from chanting "Hammer" in excitement before he began, to wailing "HAMMERRRRRRRRR!" waiting for him to come back on each time. I'm thinking--are they changing costumes? Setting the stage? Deciding what song to play next? Get on the stage already so I'll stop smelling the delicious nachos the couple next to me has and thinking of a polite way to ask if they'll give me one.

HIGHLIGHT: Pumps 'n a Bump. That's right, just when you thought this lyrical genius couldn't bring you anything sweeter than "2 Legit to Quit" and accompanying dance moves, he goes and writes a whole song about his love for girls with big butts in a pair of pumps (or 'heels' as we now call them in 2009). Gotta love the Hammer.

And the Winner is...
Okay, so...who won? Duh. Vanilla Ice, aka Robert Van Winkle. Yeah, he has more of an edge, and he's always going to be remembered for "Ice, Ice Baby." But he definitely has talent and really tried to have a good time and put on a good show. He was very nice to the crowd and seemed really thankful for all the support. He even showed his softer side when saying goodbye, telling us all that family is the most important thing in this world, and started chanting "FA-MI-LY! FA-MI-LY!" I know, I know. I was in shock myself. But then I remembered that he's Mormon.

Another picture Kris used for her Spring catalog with the girls picture. She is so amazing.

Dont duct tape .. pony tial it

Zoey is so funny about things. She is very particular with her clothes. If everything isn't just perfect she really freaks out. MOst of our mornings are spent with tears and chaos right up until I drop her off at school. Well the other day she was wearing legging. The bottoms were not tight enough for her so she got her hair elastics one red and the other yellow and got the excess material and put each leg in a pony tail, hard to explain but you know when kid wear a long tshirt the tie the back up with an elastic, that is what she did. Well today she was wearing her black tights that had a huge hole in the knee, I told her she couldn't wear them. Well as she got out of the car I saw that she had pony tailed the hole in her knee so she had an elastic bubble know on her knee. So dont duct tape, pony tail. I would have taken a picture but Jodie took the camera to Ca. but I will have to reinact for full effect.

Happy Valentines Day

For the girls Valentines we hand made 55 cards, glitter stamped every card, and then tied it to a full size Hersey bar. We did this last year for Zoey's class now she wants to do this every year and now Addi is in school that is a lot of Valentines. I should have taken a pic but didn't. I got a doz pretty roses delivered and a gift cert a Karma. This is a cute picture on Kristines website for her scrapbook business. It is a few years old now but still one of my favorites.

Zoey was 2, and Addisyn was 6 months old. So cute!
