Trip to Chigaco

American Girl Place

The Bean

London Guaranatee Building

Gothic Revival Tribune Tower

I went on an architecture tour from the river. I didn't realize how big of a city Chicago was. I went for work and then stayed a few days with my friend Hollie. We shopped on the Millenium Mile, bought a necklace at Tiffany's ( found the cheapest necklace there) went to Second City Comedy ( most of the Saturday Night Live cast has started there like Chevy Chase, Jim Belushi) ate deep dish Chicago Pizza and funny enough right next to where I was sitting some had written on the wall BYU. There was so much to see. It had some of the neatest buildings and reminded me a little of Europe.

Look at all the new build-a-bears he picked out for them

This picture is from Christmas but it is so cute of my dad and my kids. I love my dad so much, he is always there so generous and ready to help out with anything. I can't put into words how grateful I am to have him in my life. He is amazing and the biggest go getter I know.

What we will miss this fall.

Well fall is coming and we will not know what to do with our weekends. For the past 5 years we have become loyal Ute fanatics. We have all loved watching my brother Derrek be a star payer for the Utes. The girls have been brain washed to hate BYU and to bleed red. Zoey would come home from school and tell me so and so wore a BYU shirt, we hate BYU mom, we only like the Utes. She made it well known to everyone that her Uncle Derrek plays for the Utes. Well Derrek did awesome and hopefully something will fall through for him to play at the next level. If not it was fun while it lasted.

Richards played four years for the Utes from 2004-2007. , Richards was the Utes leading receiver in 2006 and 2007. As a junior in 2006, Richards recorded career highs in receptions (60) and yards (717) with 6 TD’s. In 2007, Richards was the ‘go to’ guy once again leading the way with 57 catches for 635 yards and 3 TD’s. Richards received a scholarship following his sophomore year when he earned the starting role at wide receiver in week 7 of the 2005 campaign.Richards played four years for the Utes from 2004-2007.

2006-Honorable mention all-Mountain West Conference ... only Ute receiver to start all 13 games ... led Utah with 60 catches for 717 yards ... finished sixth in the MWC in receptions per game (4.62) and ninth in receiving yards per game (55.2) ... 6 receiving touchdowns was second-best on the team ... career-best 96 receiving yards against New Mexico ... career-high 8 receptions against BYU went for 79 yards ... 7 catches for 69 yards in Utah's bowl win over Tulsa ... also played on the return teams ... returned 5 kickoffs for 129 yards (25.8 yards per return) and 6 punts for 22 yards ... made the Athletics Academic Honor Roll.

Bear Lake 7-19-08

We took our yearly boating trip to Bear Lake. We went with the Muirs, Barclays, and the Well's. It was a little windy, and for some reason the boat didn't want to cooperate after it had been tuned up. We had fun anyway. I didn't take too many pictures because I didn't know I soon was going to be a blogger of nonsense. If only I had know I would have snapped shots of our great dutch oven dinner, the wind, boat not starting, late night of outdoor movie of Transformers. I loved that show, I had no idea it would be so good. The girls all had fun as usual and we got plenty of sun for a great tan. We are going to try to get back up there, if not we will be back next July! For all of you who have flaked out you are missing out.

Almost there

Our house

It seems that the past 2 + years building our house consumed our lives. We moved in last fall and still have odds and ends to do inside. Finally with the landscape almost finished I feel like our house finally looks like a home. It was hard to leave our old neighbors, but we still have the friendships we made. We are getting to know our ward better and our kids are starting to make friends. Since their are only 9 homes in our culdesac it is not like the 100's of kids always ready to play. Some adjustments but living next store to grandma and the added bonus of the pool is worth it.

Avery laughing at the sound of the birdies chirping

Avery laughing at the birdies she can hear while we are taking pictures. This little girl is so much fun for me. She is all girl. I put a hat on the other day and she looked at me and said " oohhhh cute. 6-08

This trip was much needed. We had been spending every waking moment building our house for the past year. Here are some more pictures of our trip. Avery was at the perfect age, not quite on the move yet so we could park her on the beach and she couldn't go anywhere.

Last Summer 07

Alright going back a year ago, we went got a beach house with our high school friends on Mission Bay beach. We had such a great time. We are hopefully going to make it a tradition every other year. We hung out on the beach everyday, the boys surfed, the kids played, and the girls went to Wicked in Hollywood. Avery was just was 8 months old, Zoey 5, and Addi was 4.

What am I doing?

What am I doing? Alright, so I have been holding out on blogging. But everyone is doing it so I must be missing something. My friend Jamie stopped by to visit from California. I always read her blog, she is the most creative writer thought she claims not to be. She set me up today so here I go. Just to warn you all, I am not a creative writer, not even a little bit. The reason I am doing this is because I love to scrapbook and photography but I am falling a year or so behind on it and it gives me anxiety to be so behind. I am missing out on some great memories that happen daily. This way I can share pictures of my cute family, but at the same time hopefully capture the little things that happen daily that I will soon forget if I don't capture them now. So I am going to give it a try. So to start off with I am going to recap the past year with some photos and then move forward.
